Applying for a Job in Singapore

So here's what I did. It took me exactly 1 whole week to apply, get a response and book an interview.

1. Buy newspapers. When I arrived on a Saturday, this is what I did. I bought the paper Straits Times and it contains a LOT of job openings.
2. Look for jobs on the following sites:
3. Make sure you have a resume worth reading. 2-3 pages will do. Highlight your achievements, experience (VERY IMPORTANT IN SINGAPORE), organizations, educational background and references.

Trust me, they will call.

When your interview day arrives, be cool, confident and don't act like you know everything. Trust me, the people who will conduct interview knows when you are giving them a bunch of crap.

More importantly, if you land the job, always make sure that you get compensated well. The minimum for an S-pass holder is 1,800 Singapore dollars. If they are giving you something less than that, then don't be afraid to ask them why. because 1.8K SGD is what the Ministry of Manpower set for pass holders. For more info about the ministry of manpower, please visit this site: http://mom.gov.sg/publish/momportal/en/home.html.

That's about it. Unless of course there are other things that you need more clarification, don't hesitate to contact me! :) I know its a pretty short post but I hope that it has somehow cleared some blurry stuff.
